Cody Ray, of West Mansfield (above), was arrested early Wednesday morning by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office after a short pursuit with a stolen vehicle. Ray, 27, was behind the wheel with a passenger who was not the same person he escaped with, Patton said.

Ray and Joshua Hammond (right) ran through an open door and climbed a 12-foot fence on the east side of the West Central Community Correctional Facility in Marysville on the afternoon of Sept. 29, Patton said.

Anyone who sees Hammond should not approach him and should call 911 or the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 937-645-4110.

Ray, 27, was in jail for a probation violation out of an original felony charge of grand theft, Patton said.

Hammond, 28, of Columbus, is described as 6’ tall/140 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He was serving time for a probation violation out of an original felony charge of possession of drugs.
