COLUMBUS – For anyone who has waited until the last minute and now wants to get married on Valentine’s Day, the judges of the Franklin County Municipal Court will hear their vows and pronounce them husband and wife Thursday.
The judges will conduct wedding ceremonies between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in courtroom 14B, located on the 14th floor of the Municipal Courthouse at 375 S. High Street. Interested parties should contact the Court at (614) 645-3889 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but may experience a wait.
It’s not just a matter of showing up with a ring and a bouquet.
First, there is the marriage license.
Licenses must be obtained in advance at the Franklin County Probate Court, 373 S. High Street, 23rd Floor between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Info line: 614-525-3108.
Then, there is a $25 filing fee that must be paid prior to the ceremony at the Municipal Court Clerk’s cashier’s window located at 375 S. High on the 3rd floor. The Clerk accepts cash, money order, check, cashier’s check and credit card payments.
