COLUMBUS – Police say they have found the car involved in a hit-skip incident on the Far North Side that left a 22-year-old woman dead.
Investigators say they found the dark red 2005 Buick Lacrosse about a block away from where Griselda Lopez-Hernandez was killed late Sunday night.
Police say Lopez-Hernandez was walking southbound on the west side of Worthington-Galena Road, just south of Greenscape Boulevard shortly after 10:00 p.m. when she was hit from behind by a car that fled the scene without stopping.
Lopez-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics. She is so small, initital reports indicated the victim was a child.
Investigators found the suspect vehicle, registered to a man who lives on Scenic Club Drive, Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Accident Investigation Unit said.
The car is being processed as evidence, he said.
