COLUMBUS – A man who was shot during an altercation that broke out while a crowd of people watched two women fight on a South Side street last week is now facing a murder charge after a man he had shot during the melee died .
Rashawn Wilson died Friday morning, five days after being shot in the chest, allegedly by Earl Lindsey, who was also shot, apparently in retaliation, Columbus police said.

Lindsey, was found at the scene of the shootings, at the intersection of E. Gates Street and Ann Street, at 10:08 p.m. Monday following a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot and was lying on the ground.
An assault charge against Lindsey was upgraded to murder, said Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit.
While Lindsey, 27 (right), was taken to a hospital for treatment of a wound to his neck, detectives say officers got a report that Wilson, 18, had been dropped off at a hospital with a gunshot wound in the chest, police said.
Witnesses told police that a large crowd had gathered to watch two unknown women fight when an altercation broke out between Wilson and Lindsey. Police say the witnesses told investigators that Lindsey pulled out a handgun and shot Wilson and was in turn shot by an as yet unidentified third man.
