COLUMBUS – Columbus police Wednesday released the names of the victims and suspect in a stabbing spree that left three people dead before police shot the suspect to death on the Northeast Side Monday morning.

Azeb Demewez, a 33-year-old woman, and Selam Habte, an 18-year-old woman, both died after being stabbed at an apartment complex on Walford Street Monday morning, police said.
Russom Habte, a 19-year-old man, died of stab wounds in an apartment about one block away, in the 2100 block of Fitzroy Avenue, police said.
Alganesh Gebrezgabiher, a 51-year-old woman was hospitalized with life-threatening condition injuries, police said.
Officers summoned to the complex encountered Abadi Gebregziber, a 64-year- old man, who was armed with a knife, police spokesman Sgt. Dean Worthington said.
One officer deployed a stun-gun to stop Gebregziber, who was shot to death by Sgt. Gregg Seevers and died at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Worthington said.
WBNS-TV reports Selam and Russom Habte were sister and brother and Alganesh Gebrezgabiher is their mother.
Police haven’t said what prompted the attack.
