COLUMBUS – With four weeks left before Election Day, Ohioans are being reminded to make sure their voter registration is up-to-date so they can begin casting absentee ballots on Wednesday.
Tuesday, Oct. 11, is the deadline to register to vote in Ohio. Voters can download and print a registration form and check their registration status at the Ohio Secretary of State’s website.

Some may already know their registration is current.
“If you received a mail absentee ballot application in the mail from the Secretary of State’s Office, that means they have your registration and you’re fine,” says Peg Rosenfield, election specialist with the League of Women Voters of Ohio. “If you did not receive one of those, you really want to check your registration.”
Voters can also register to vote in-person at their local county board of elections office.
The Franklin County Board of Elections office at 1700 Morse Road will be open late until 9:00 p.m. Voter registration forms can be hand-delivered there or any public library in Franklin County by close of business. Registration forms mailed in must be postmarked no later than Oct. 11.
Early voting and absentee voting begins Wednesday. Registered voters can request a ballot until noon on November 5th.
