COLUMBUS – Giovanny Urshela’s sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the ninth gave the Clippers a walk-off 7-6 win over Charlotte Wednesday night at Huntington Park, their seventh straight victory.
Wearing throwback Columbus Jets uniforms of 1955-70, the Clippers took a 6-2 lead into the 8th inning, only to see it disappear when Knights left fielder Daniel Fields teed off on reliever Jeff Johnson with two outs and the bases loaded sent one out of the park in right-center for a game-tying grand slam.
The Clippers go for eight in a row and a perfect home stand Thursday morning as they wrap up the series with Charlotte in a Business Day Special at 11:35 a.m.
