CLEVELAND (AP) — Stephen Curry rediscovered his long-range shooting touch while the Golden State Warriors pulled within one victory of their second straight NBA title.
Curry poured in 38 points and the Warriors grabbed a three-games-to-one lead in the finals by downing the Cavaliers 108-97 in Cleveland. The Warriors shot 17-for-36 from 3-point range, with Curry hitting seven of his 13 attempts.
The game was tied at 81 until Golden State went on a 12-3 run to go ahead by nine with 5:56 to play.
Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes each drained four treys for the Warriors, who trailed by eight with 9:29 left in the third quarter before going on a 19-9 run. Thompson finished with 25 points and Barnes had 14 and eight rebounds.
Kyrie Irving scored 34 points to lead the Cavaliers in scoring for the second straight game. LeBron James fell one assist shy of a triple-double, contributing 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The Warriors can wrap up the NBA championship Monday in Oakland.
