OAKLAND, Calif. – The stars came out in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, but it was Stephen Curry who shined brightest and he led the Golden State Warriors to a 104-91 win and a took a 3-2 lead over the Cavaliers on Sunday night.
Curry scored 37 points, 17 of them in the fourth quarter, including seven straight to put away the game after Cleveland got within eight points in the final 2 minutes.
LeBron James finished with 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for the Cavaliers
The Warriors can win their first championship since 1975 with a victory Tuesday in Cleveland (8:00 p.m./ABC).
Game 7, if necessary, would be back in Oakland on Friday.
Tristan Thompson had 19 points and 10 boards for Cleveland.
