Just a week after torrential rains caused flash flooding across the area, a storm system dumped nearly 1.5 inches of rain on central Ohio, according to WBNS 10-TV meteorologist Ashlee Baracy. John Glenn International Airport reported 1.04 inches fell on Sunday, on top of the 0.41 inches recorded on Saturday.

Severe storms injured three people, caused damage, felled trees and knocked out power to thousands in Delaware County, Westerville and Dublin Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in Vinton County Saturday evening, causing no injuries.

Heavy rain in the Upper Midwest over the weekend triggered widespread flash flooding that has prompted evacuations and washed out roads and bridges.

Although no fatalities were reported, authorities in Augusta, Ky., were searching for a missing 82-year-old man. Search efforts were hampered by the large amount of debris in the floodwaters, said Capt. Ron Nadicksbernd of Buffalo Trace Search and Rescue.
