COLUMBUS – The Ohio State women’s basketball team is returning to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament for the first time since winning the event nearly 20 years ago.
2019 Women’s National Invitational Tournament
Ohio State (14-14) vs Morehead State (23-10)
Value City Arena Wed., March 20 (7:00 p.m.)
The Buckeyes earned the conference’s automatic bid into the WNIT because they were the No. 5 seed in this year’s Big Ten Tournament, the highest seeded Big Ten team not selected for the NCAA Tournament.
The Buckeyes are one of three Big Ten teams in the field, joining Minnesota and Northwestern.
This is just the second time Ohio State is participating in the WNIT. The previous appearance was in 2001 when the Buckeyes won five games in route to the title.
Ohio State and Morehead State will be meeting for just the third time and the first since 1983.
