COLUMBUS – Ohio University made key plays down the stretch to secure a 74-68 victory over Ohio State on Sunday at Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes led 32-30 at the break but the Bobcats came out of the locker room hot and swung the game with 23 points in the third quarter, powered by Erica Johnson, who hit all of her three-point attempts during the quarter on the way to a 16-point, 12-rebound performance.
Amani Burke scored a game-high 23 points for the Bobcats.
Freshmen Kierstan Bell and Aixa Wone Aranaz each scored 12 points while Aaliyah Patty and Braxtin Miller chipped-in with 10 points apiece for the Buckeyes (2-1).
The score was tied at 68-68 with 2:20 to go but the Buckeyes who missed their final five shots.
