COLUMBUS – Ohio State outscored Illinois 40-10 over the final 15 minutes on the way to a 77-47 victory Sunday.
Buckeye (11-7, 4-3) freshmen combined to score 61 of the team’s 77 points in the game including 43 of 45 points in the second half.
With the game tied 37-37 with five minutes left in the third quarter, Jacy Sheldon and Kierstan Bell sparked a 19-0 run.
Bell scored 12 of her career-high 19 points in the second half.
Rebeka Mikulasikova notched 12 points and Sheldon finished with 10 points.
