Werner leads next wave of Buckeyes in NFL draft

COLUMBUS – Five more Buckeyes were selected in the second night of the NFL draft.

The five join quarterback Justins Fields, who went in the first round Thursday, No. 11 overall, to the Chicago Bears.

The six players selected gives Ohio State a run of eight consecutive drafts with at least five players selected.

Linebacker Pete Werner was the first Buckeye off the board, going No. 60 overall and a second-round pick of the New Orleans Saints. Two picks later, with pick No. 62, the Green Bay Packers selected Josh Myers.

The Minnesota Vikings selected offensive guard Wyatt Davis in the third round, with the 86th overall pick, And, at No. 88, the San Francisco 49ers selected running back Tre Sermon.

Baron Browning was then the last pick of the third round, No. 105 overall, to the Denver Broncos.
