COLUMBUS – A boil alert has been issued by Franklin County officials for an area west of I-270 on the West Side after a section of water main was accidentally broken Monday morning by a contractor working on a state Department of Transportation project on W. Broad Street.
The boil alert applies only to residents who lost water service completely while the repairs were being made, according to a release from the Franklin County commissioners.
The affected area is west of I-270 and east of Hilliard-Rome Rd for those living on the north side of Broad Street, or east of Inah Avenue for those on the south side of Broad Street.
The boil alert is scheduled to be in effect only until Tuesday evening.
