COLUMBUS (AP) – Columbus police say a woman has been arrested in the death of a baby girl in May from ingesting narcotic drugs.
Erica Barley of Reynoldsburg turned herself in Thursday morning and was arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children, Homicide Unit detectives said. She was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
Officers who responded to a home on Columbian Avenue May 27 at 5:20 p.m. found 14-month-old Annabella Sagstetter. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A police news release didn’t say if the girl and the suspect were related or provide details on the circumstances of the child’s death.
A police spokesman didn’t immediately return a call Thursday for comment.
