COLUMBUS – Police say a woman was recovering after being shot by a man who chased her down a Southeast Side street before opening fire.
Kimberly Redd was walking down Dover Road from Kenwick Road at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday when she told detectives she noticed a man following her. He called to her “as though he knew her and was trying to get her attention,” police said.
Redd, 45, says she became scared and started to run. The man chased her and caught up to her in front of a home in the 2900 block of Dover Road.
While standing in the front yard, man, described only as a black male, fired multiple gunshots at her, hitting her in the right thigh, Assault Unit investigators said.
The victim was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries at Grant Medical Center, police said.
There are no suspects in the incident.
