Woman dead, man injured in stabbing

COLUMBUS – No charges had been filed Friday morning after two people were found stabbed, one of them fatally, inside a South Linden home Thursday morning.

Police went to the home in the 1300 block of E. 23rd Avenue at 8:12 a.m. when Rocio Torres’ daughter reported finding her mother stabbed and a 48-year-old man still at scene, also stabbed, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.

Rocio, 47, was pronounced at the scene and the man, whose name was not released, was taken to Grant Medical Center where Pilya says he was listed in critical condition.

This is the 36th homicide of 2019 in Columbus.
