Woman dies after being shot while driving

COLUMBUS – A woman shot while driving on a South Side street Sunday night died Monday, the 135th homicide victim of 2020 in Columbus.

Christina Perry died after being shot while driving in the 1000 block of Studer Avenue just after 8:00 p.m., police said.

Officers responding to a reported shooting found Perry, 35, sitting in her vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. She was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m. Monday, police said.

The 13-year-old boy riding with Perry told police that they were driving southbound on Studer Avenue when a dark vehicle came up behind their vehicle and someone opened fired.

There was no suspect information Tuesday morning.
