COLUMBUS – Police were looking for a Ford pickup whose driver allegedly hit and dragged a woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle early Sunday, leaving her in critical condition.

Betty Johnson was riding on a motorcycle, operated by Christopher Carter, when they were side-swiped by the pickup at the corner of Ravenswood Court and S. James Road at 12:39 a.m., said Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Accident Investigation Unit.
As Carter’s motorcycle operated sat at the stop sign on westbound Ravenswood Court, a maroon Ford pickup operated by an unknown man tried to go around the bike, hitting it and knocking Carter and Johnson off the motorcycle, Wilson said.
Wilson says the truck ran over Johnson and dragged her approximately 168 feet before the pickup stopped, the male driver got out and pulled Johnson from underneath the truck and drove away.
Johnson, 27, was listed in critical condition Grant Medical Center while Carter, also 27, was in serious condition, Wilson said
Wilson says police are looking for pickup, which has a crew cab with a long bed and tinted windows. The pickup will have damage to the front and right side.
Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle is asked to call the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit at 614-645-4767.
