Dallas Tallarico was struck by two cars while to walk across the westbound lanes of I-270, west of I-71 after the car she was in crashed into the metal cable median barrier just before 5:00 a.m., Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
Tallarico and Caleb Justice, both 21, were both trying to cross the freeway after the crash when Tallarico was struck while in the center lane by a Geo Prism driven by Craig Toni, 57 of Ashville, and then by a Toyota Prius driven by Razak Williams, 46, of Columbus. Justice was struck by a Ford Focus driven by Nathan McDonald, 24 of Fairborn, Baldwin said.
Justice and Toni were both injured and were transported to Grant Medical Center by the Jackson Township Fire Department.
Tallarico was pronounced deceased on scene, Baldwin said.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, which is still under investigation, Baldwin said.
