COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three teens are expected to be charged with murder in the shooting death of a 17-year-old, but none of them pulled the trigger.
Reb Barbee was shot by the woman living at a Galloway home when he and three accomplices broke in early Sunday morning, Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott said.
Scott says Adam Pickens, 18, and 17-year-olds Brandon Hamilton and Tyler Blazor took Barbee from the scene of the shooting on Hubbard Drive South to his home on Dovalon Place where they waited for an hour before calling 911. Barbee was pronounced dead at Doctors West Hospital.
The three are charged with aggravated burglary but Scott says detectives will seek murder charges. The homeowner will reportedly not be charged.
The four teens broke into the early Sunday morning and woke up the woman who lived there. She told investigators she saw Barbee standing in the living knife and wearing a mask resembling one of the members of the rap group Insane Clown Posse, Scott said.
She fired one shot, hitting Barbee in the back of his lower shoulder. Barbee and the others fled to Barbee’s home about two blocks away where they called 911 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Scott said.
