COLUMBUS, Ohio – The search for a Ross County woman who has been missing since Christmas is expected to resume Wednesday morning
Shasta Himelrick. 20, of Richmond Dale, was last heard from when she sent text messages to friends early Friday morning, but has not been seen since late on Thursday night, except for an image caught by a convenience-store security camera, Ross County Sheriff George Lavender Jr. said.

The vehicle she was driving was found abandoned at about 7:15 Saturday morning at the intersection of Three Locks and Higby Roads near the Scioto River in southeastern Ross County. Search efforts, involving water rescue teams, dogs and helicopters have concentrated on that area.
Family members and friends told investigators Himelrick was last seen in the early evening hours of Christmas Day and friends have reported receiving text messages from her at approximately 2:30 a.m. Friday and security video shows her at a gas station in Chillicothe (above) about 45 minutes later, Lavender said
Himelrick is described as approximately 5’4” tall/120-150 lbs. with blonde hair and green eyes. She has tattoos one on her right bicep area that are predominately red in color, Lavender said, and was last known to be wearing gray sweat pants and a pink hooded sweatshirt with a logo on the front.
Lavender is asking that anyone with any information contact his office at 740-773-1185 or Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers anonymously at 740-773-TIPS.
