Woman stabbed to death in domestic dispute

COLUMBUS – A Southeast Side man is in jail, charged with stabbing the mother of his child to death after a long argument Sunday night.

Columbus police officers deployed a Taser to subdue Aaron Holston, who threatened to commit “suicide by cop,” according to a post on the Columbus Division of Police Twitter feed.

Officers called to Holston’s home in the 900 block of Wilson Avenue at 11:13 p.m. on a report of a stabbing found Angela Willoughby lying inside the residence, unresponsive and suffering from several stab wounds, Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit said.

Willoughby, 49, was taken to Grant Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased at 11:45 p.m., Strayer says

Investigators determined that Willoughby had been involved in an argument that lasted for several hours with Aaron Holston, who is also the father of her children, ranging in age from nine to 17, who were in the house at the time of the incident, Strayer said.

The argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Holston, 39, stabbed Willoughby repeatedly, Strayer said.

Holston has been charged with murder and is being held in the Franklin County Jail awaiting arraignment, Strayer said.

The investigation continues.

This is the 75th Homicide in Columbus in 2018.
