District officials notified parents that a student alerted school staff members to a social media post involving a student and a handgun, including a photo apparently taken at the school, assistant superintendent Randy Banks said in an email to parents.
Administrators determined that a student was in possession of an unloaded handgun and ammunition but Banks says officials had no evidence of any threats.
Columbus Police took the student into custody and WBNS 10-TV reported that Domonic Keaton is facing a felony gun charge, citing court records, and that Keaton admitted to carrying the gun to school for two days.
