COLUMBUS, Ohio – A 29-year-old man who was driving the wrong way on a freeway near downtown died when his car crashed into another vehicle early Sunday morning, Columbus police said.
Accident investigators say Steven Gibbs was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of state Route 315 near Olentangy River Road in a 2014 Volkswagen at approximately 3:16 a.m. when he crashed head-on into a Buick driven by Brandon Williams.
Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams, 30, and three men in his car were taken to area hospitals for treatment, accident investigators said.
