COLUMBUS – A Blacklick woman died after driving the wrong way on Refugee Road and colliding head-on with another vehicle, sending the teenager behind the wheel to the hospital.
Sandra Ables was traveling eastbound in the westbound of Refugee Road near the intersection with Tennyson Boulevard at approximately 3:46 p.m. Wednesday when her Chevrolet Equinox collided head-on with a Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 17-year-old boy, Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit said.
Ables, 53, died later at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center while the teen was listed in stable condition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Wilson says the Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
