CLEVELAND (AP) — Luis Severino overpowered Cleveland’s lineup into the seventh inning and Aaron Judge connected for his 35th homer as the New York Yankees thumped the Indians 8-1 Sunday.
Severino allowed just two hits in six and two thirds innings as the Yankees split the four-game series.
The Indians activated second baseman Jason Kipnis from the disabled list before the game.
Kipnis had been sidelined since before the All-Star break with a strained right hamstring.
To make room for the former All-Star, the club optioned infielder Erik Gonzalez to the Clippers.
