COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus city officials are responding to citywide complaints about nasty-tasting water.
“It tastes like a barn door,” said one resident.
The public utilities department says the funny taste and musty odor in the water happens every fall, when temperatures get colder and water in the city’s reservoir gets stirred up. Older water finds its way into the pipes and to the faucets.
Utility crews have taken steps to remove the smell over the next few days by adding chemicals.
