Zeke leads Buckeyes in 28-3 win

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Third-ranked Ohio State pounded out a 28-3 victory over Illinois on Saturday, setting a new college football record with their 30th consecutive regular season conference win.

Ezekiel Elliott ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback J.T. Barrett, starting again after being suspended for last week’s game, threw for 150 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also ran for 74 yards and a score.

Elliott helped the Buckeyes expand a 14-3 halftime lead by running for 129 yards and dcored each of his touchdowns in the second half.

He extended his FBS-leading streak of 100-yard games to 15 and also moved into third place on Ohio State’s all-time rushing list with 3,565 yards, passing Tim Spencer who rushed for 3,553 from 1979-82. Eddie George is second with 3,768. Archie Griffin tops the list with 5,589 yards.
