Zeke suspended 6 games

COLUMBUS – Former Buckeye Ezekiel Elliott has received a six-game suspension after the NFL concluded that the league’s 2016 rushing leader caused injuries to his then-girlfriend three times during a five-day period last summer.

The league held a yearlong investigation and made its ruling under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Columbus prosecutors decided nearly a year ago not to pursue the case.

If the decision by commissioner Roger Goodell stands, Elliott will go on the suspended list the first week of the regular season and be eligible to return to the active roster Oct. 23.

The 22-year-old Elliot has three days to appeal the ruling, which his legal team said he would do.
