UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio – American Electric Power officials say blackouts in Upper Arlington now will help prevent them down the road.
The utility says a half-dozen power outages in the city over the past month were caused by work to improve the reliability of the city’s electric grid.
An outage yesterday affected Upper Arlington High School, Barrington Elementary School and the city’s main library.
AEP officials say the project will continue through the end of the year, but they have a plan in place to avoid more blackouts.
