COLUMBUS, Ohio – A violent argument and shootout that ended in the death of a 20-year-old man on the Northeast Side capped a violent period in Columbus.
Detectives say Marvin Johnson was gunned down near Cleveland Avenue and E. 12th Avenue at 6:31 p.m. Thursday, the city’s third homicide since midnight.
Officers found Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body east of 1146 E. 12th Avenue, where he was pronounced dead Columbus medics, investigators said.
The initial investigation indicated there was an argument followed by an exchange of gunfire between Johnson and an unknown suspect.
This is the 52nd homicide of 2013.
