Arrested in car-jacking, man is supect in other holdups

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Lewis Center man’s alleged robbery spree came to an end on the North Side yesterday after he is suspected of car-jacking a 52-year-old woman from her own driveway.

Columbus police say Clinton Agbor has not only been charged with trying to hold up Kristen Vilt and stealing Helen Yee’s car, but he was already out on bond on three indictments and was a suspect in numerous other robberies, Robbery Unit detectives said.

Investigators say Agbor tried to rob Kristen Vilt 22, at gunpoint near the intersection of Norwich Street and N. 4th Street last night, but drove away when she said she didn’t have any money.

About 20 minutes later, he stopped his car in the middle of Richards Road and jumped into the passenger seat of Helen Yee’s car while it sat in her driveway.

He ordered her at gunpoint to drive him somewhere but Yee stalled while one of her neighbors called 911.

The officers who responded surrounded Agbor’s car in the middle of the street and, when he demanded to know what they were doing, they arrested him.

Already under indictment on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and rape, he is now facing another charge of aggravated robbery and his role in similar crimes is under investigation, detectives said.
