COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes begin their Big Ten football season in a prime-time, nationally-televised tilt with the defending conference champions, the team coach Urban Meyer calls the “king of the Big Ten.”
The Wisconsin Badgers come to Ohio Stadium for an 8:00 kickoff on ABC6.
The Buckeyes have mostly coasted through their first four games: They have never trailed, have outscored opponents 102-14 through the first quarter and have been on top by at least eight points for 92 percent of the time.
As much as they say they took a lot out of their four pre-Big Ten games, one thing they didn’t is that feeling of having to make a big play under pressure in a tight game.
Now they play 23rd-ranked Wisconsin, which has a history of playing close games with the Buckeyes. No fewer than 15 of the last 28 meetings have been decided by seven or fewer points — including the last two.
“I think this is going to be a classic. It’s going to come down to one or two series to win this game,” Meyer said.
