UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Cam Atkinson scored the deciding goal of the shootout to lift the Blue Jackets to a 3-2 win over the Islanders at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday.
Mark Letestu and Ryan Johansen each scored in the third period to tie the game for Columbus, which lost its opener to Calgary on Friday.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 shots to record the win.
The Jackets are off until they play at Buffalo on Thursday.
