EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) – A northeast Ohio man will be charged with aggravated murder after police found three bodies in trash bags, according to the city’s mayor.
Michael Madison was arrested this past weekend after the bodies of three women were found in and around an abandoned house on Friday and Saturday.
East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton says the women were killed senselessly by a man with no regard for human life.
Madison, 35, is a registered sex offender who claims to have been inspired by convicted Cleveland serial killer Anthony Sowell.
There are no plans to resume searching in and around the neighborhood where the bodies were found separately, East Cleveland Police Chief Ralph Spotts said.
Sunday’s search of about 40 abandoned houses and other areas turned up no more bodies.
A medical examiner says the bodies were in advanced stages of decomposition, and it will take days to identify the women and determine how they died.
