COLUMBUS, Ohio – Idle last week, Ohio State didn’t lose any ground in the major college football polls, but didn’t gain any either.
The Buckeyes (6-0) were still ranked No. 3 in the “USA Today” top-25 college football rankings and No. 4 in the AP Top 25.
OSU takes on Iowa at Ohio Stadium this Saturday (3:30 p.m./ABC 6).
Alabama and Oregon remained 1-2 in both polls, with Clemson ranked No. 3 by the AP and fourth in “USA Today.”
The Southeastern Conference has set a record for most schools in The Associated Press college football poll with eight ranked teams.
After seven ranked teams in AP poll suffered upsets on Saturday, five teams that were unranked or lower made big moves.
Stanford dropped eight spots after losing to Utah and Michigan fell from the AP poll following a quadruple-overtime loss at Penn State but clung to the No. 24 spot in the “USA Today” coaches’ poll.
Florida State moved up to No. 5 to set up a top-five matchup at Clemson next week.
