COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State University officials are warning students to keep a look out after a pair of campus-area home invasions.
The most recent happened yesterday when a woman was tied up at gunpoint after the suspects broke in through a window in her W. Maynard Avenue apartment.
On August 19, a similar home invasion-style robbery was reported on W. Oakland Avenue.
Students living off-campus are being reminded to lock all their doors and windows.
Police says, in yesterday’s incident, the student told investigators she woke up just before 11:30 a.m. to find two men pointing guns at her. They tied her hands and put her in the basement.
The suspects are described as one Latino male, 25-30 years old, 6’0”-6’2”/220 lbs. and a black male, 6’1”/195 lbs., wearing a gray Michigan sweatshirt and a mask.
In the August robbery, a caller told officers he and his roommate answered a knock on the door just before 10:00 a.m. and were confronted by two men who forced their way into the home at knifepoint.
The suspects in that incident were described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 6’-6’1”/150 lbs., clean shaven, with short blond hair, wearing a red OSU hoodie, and a black male, 20-25, 6’-6’1/150 lbs., wearing dark clothing.
