COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Crew took another step upward in the MLS Eastern Conference standings on Sunday night at Toyota Stadium, claiming its third consecutive league win with an emphatic 4-2 triumph over FC Dallas.
The victory gives Columbus (12-14-5, 41 points) its fourth win in their past five MLS matches under interim head coach Brian Bliss.
It was also their first four-goal performance since June 22, 2002.
With the win, the Crew moves to within a single point of the fifth and final MLS Cup Playoffs position in the Eastern Conference, trailing Philadelphia (11-10-9, 42 points).
Columbus has three regular-season matches remaining to close this gap, with all three contests coming against conference opponents, starting Saturday against Sporting Kansas City (7:30 p.m./FOX Sports Ohio).
