LANCASTER, Ohio – Fairfield County’s clerk of courts and her husband are free on bond after being slapped with theft-related charges.
Deborah Smalley is charged with theft in office for allegedly making employees campaign for her on county time. Dave Smalley is accused of helping his wife.
The Smalleys were charged after a state audit uncovered the alleged crimes.
