Eddie Bauer looking for 1,200 workers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Hundreds of seasonal jobs are up for grabs at an upscale retailer’s central Ohio warehouse.

Eddie Bauer is planning to hire 1,200 fulltime workers to man phones and ship out holiday orders from its Groveport Service Center, 6600 Alum Creek Drive.

Goodwill Columbus will host a job fair to fill those positions next week.

The job fair is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwill Columbus Workforce Development Battelle Career Education Center, 1331 Edgehill Road.

Positions available include “picking and packing” and customer service, Goodwill officials say. The clothing company is hiring for three Monday-through-Friday shifts with a possibility for weekend hours beginning as soon as Oct. 1. Hourly wages range from $10 for first shift workers to $10.70 for third shift and premiums will be paid to equipment operators.

The company says the positions may last through January and some will be converted to regular employment.

Job seekers should bring ID and social security cards. Drug screenings and skill assessments will be completed at the job fair and the company says offers could be made the same day. Background checks will be completed on each applicant and criminal convictions are not an automatic disqualification.
