Election Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Today is a primary election day in Ohio, though not all voters need to go to the polls.

Polling places will be open for voting from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

More than 640,000 registered voters in Franklin County have issues or candidates to vote on, but another 215,000 do not, Board of Elections spokesman Ben Piscitelli said.

There are primary races for city council seats in Columbus, Hilliard and Reynoldsburg, a proposed tax increase for Gahanna and a levy for Groveport Madison Local Schools.

Voters in Brice will decide whether to create a village charter.

The City of Gahanna is asking voters to approve a 1.5 percent income tax increase for operations and services.

Voters in the Groveport Madison Local School District will decide the fate of a 7.08-mill tax levy.

In Delaware County, a senior citizens levy and Delaware City Schools bond issue are on the ballot.

The Johnstown-Monroe, Licking Heights, Lakewood and North Fork Local schools are asking for approval of tax issues.

There are also school issues on the ballot in the Marysville, Madison-Plains and Walnut Township districts and income tax increases in Lancaster and London.
