First snow in forecast

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A taste of winter may arrive in central Ohio this week.

It may seem a little early to be talking about freezing temperatures and snow, but the onset of the wintry weather is actually right on schedule.

The National Weather Service says the average date for the first 32-degree day in the fall is Oct. 22. This year, it is forecast to arrive Friday, with some snow showers to herald the arrival of colder weather.

The forecast for central Ohio calls for a chance of rain, possibly mixed with snow showers, Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning. The total precipitation is expected to be a quarter inch or less.
