COLUMBUS, Ohio – Franklin County’s housing market is showing another sign of recovery from the recession.
County officials say foreclosures were down in September, with less than 330 homes receiving notice of bank action.
A spokeswoman for Franklin County Clerk of Courts Maryellen O’Shaughnessy says the office calculated the data multiple times to make sure it was accurate.
The total is nearly half the number of foreclosures reported in August and much lower than last year.
The foreclosure rate for the first nine months of the year was 40 percent lower than the same period of time one year ago and the 328 foreclosures filed in September was the lowest monthly total since at least as far back as 2001 when the office began posting records online.
