BALTIMORE, Ohio – A Fairfield County girl is fighting for a spot on her school’s football team.
Makhaela Jenkins and her family are demanding the Liberty Union-Thurston schools allow her to play on the middle school team.
District officials told her she wouldn’t be allowed to play because of a policy blocking girls from contact sports.
Jenkins has been playing youth football for years in Baltimore and says she has earned the right to compete with and against boys.
