COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus man faces charges after leading Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase that reached speeds of over 100 mph before coming to an end when he crashed his SUV on a freeway exit ramp on the Southeast Side early this morning.
When troopers tried to stop Jack A Morris II’s 2013 GMC Acadia for a traffic violation around 2:00 a.m., Morris, 25, refused to pull over and headed onto westbound I-70 lead where the pursuit reached speeds of 110 mph, Patrol spokesman Lt. D.J. Smith said.
Morris lost control of his vehicle and crashed on the exit ramp from I-70 to Hamilton Road, where Morris’s passenger, Grover Solomon, 31, was ejected.
Both men were taken to Grant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Smith said.
Smith says charges are pending.
