Hilliard woman’s death treated as murder

HILLIARD, Ohio – Hilliard police say a woman’s death is being treated as a murder.

Officers found the body of Terri Menendez and her unconscious son inside their home yesterday afternoon after Menendez failed to report for work.

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, but investigators believe Menendez, 44, was the victim of a homicide, Det. Hyda Slone said.

Menendez’ son, 22-year-old Tyler Dunkle, is being treated at a local hospital where he was unconscious and unable to talk to investigators late last night, Slone said.

Officers went to Menendez’ home, at 2596 Westham Way in the Hilliard Summit apartment complex off Roberts Road, just before 1:45 p.m. after family and co-workers reported that she had not come to work that day and had not been heard from, Slone said.

Dunkle was listed in guarded condition last night.
