COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was struck by several vehicles on I-71 in the early-morning hours of Wednesday, causing commuters to change their routes to work.
A few minutes before 5:00 a.m., several vehicles traveling northbound on I-71, just south of Cooke Road, came across a female lying in the middle of the roadway.
It appeared as though several vehicles had driven over her. She pronounced the female dead at the scene.
Police do not know her name or whether alcohol played a role in the incident, investigators said.
The northbound lanes of the freeway were closed between I-670 and Cooke Road throughout Wednesday morning.
