COLUMBUS, Ohio – A state prison inmate was still on the lam this morning after escaping from his work detail Monday afternoon.
The State Highway Patrol says Spencer Johnson was picking up trash with a community service crew along I-70 in Madison County when he made a break for freedom.
Johnson was being held at the London Correctional Institution for a burglary conviction.
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said 28-year-old Spencer Johnson, 28, left the detail around 2:00 p.m. as the crew was working in the area of mile marker 81.
Johnson is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, 6’/ about 200 pounds.
When last seen, he was wearing a state-issued khaki shirt and khaki pants.
